The Elbaf arc in One Piece has revealed shocking secrets. However, one of the biggest surprises came in chapter 1154: the confirmation that Rocks D. Xebec had a son. As many suspected, this son is none other than Blackbeard .
The very name of Blackbeard's ship—"Saber of Xebec"—was already a strong clue. Furthermore, he rules Pirate Island, Rocks' former territory. However, there's a chance that Rocks had another heir , and he may be right before our eyes.
Buggy hides more than it seems
According to recent theories with the release of chapter 1155, Buggy may be this second son. Undeniably, he shares some physical similarities with Rocks—except for the red nose. However, according to official materials, Buggy's nose isn't real . Previous cover requests have shown that it can be removed.
In fact, Buggy's licensed merchandise suggests he's hiding his true identity . This raises suspicions about his past. Shanks and Buggy were both raised by Roger , but only Shanks was rescued in the God Valley Incident.
A connection to God Valley?
In Kuma's flashback, we learn that Rocks went to God Valley to retrieve something taken by the Marines. Therefore, it's possible that Buggy was kidnapped as a child . If Roger entrusted Ace to Garp, why wouldn't Garp do the same with Buggy, handing him over to Roger?
Therefore, if this theory is confirmed, Buggy and Blackbeard would be half-brothers . While it seems unlikely, the evidence presented so far makes this possibility quite plausible.
One Piece 1155 will be officially released on July 20, 2025. You can read it for free on the Manga Plus .
