In celebration of its 15th anniversary this year, Eiichiro Oda's adaptation of " One Piece " has released a video revealing the 15 best scenes from the anime's 15 years of airing. The anime began in late October 1999 and currently has 669 episodes.
Since its release, One Piece has become the best-selling manga series of all time in Japan and one of the most popular manga series worldwide. It is the best-selling manga in the history of Weekly Shōnen Jump 2, as well as its most acclaimed title.
In February 2013, Shueisha announced that it had sold 288.8 million volumes of the manga to date; volume 67 set a new record for the largest initial circulation of any magazine released in Japan with 4.05 million copies (the previous record was held by volume 65 with 4 million copies). Volume 60 was the first magazine to sell over 2 million copies in its first week in Japan according to the Oricon charts.3 One Piece is the best-selling series in Japanese manga history.
