anime One Piece is preparing a remastered version of the Fish-Man Island Saga with the same director as Gear 5. The hiatus in the adaptation of the Egghead Island the opportunity to Toei Animation revisit this iconic saga, which will be reduced from 58 to 21 episodes, now with improved animation and a remastered soundtrack.
The story reintroduces the Straw Hat crew after two years apart, as they journey to the New World. Along the way, they must pass through Fish-Man Island, located thousands of meters below sea level, where they will face new challenges.

However, during a One Piece organized by Toei in France, a Twitter fan named Moumai shared information about the remake. He reported that the session was attended by directors Tatsuya Nagamine and Kenji Yokoyama. Nagamine, known for directing episode 1071, where Luffy revealed Gear 5, commented on his dedication to the first episodes of the new version of the saga.
In Nagamine's words:
I spend every night working on After Effects, adding precise details and elements. I think, 'Why am I doing this?' but I want it to be perfect! I worked until 6 AM before my flight to France, still adjusting small details.
