One Piece anime will soon enter one of the most memorable moments of the franchise by introducing Luffy . Tatsuya Nagamine , the anime's director, said that Mayumi Tanaka Gear 5 awakening .

During One Piece Day 2023 , Nagamine spoke about Mayumi Tanaka's performance voicing Luffy in this special scene. According to the director, Tanaka exceeded his expectations, delivering a perfect laugh for his character's new form.
"I thought it would be difficult to get the funny parts right, so I tried to tone down the laughter a bit. But Ms. Mayumi Tanaka went above and beyond, giving us an incredible laugh from Gear 5. And the end result exceeded expectations."
Furthermore, he also says that he has planned an innovative voiceover for this moment because Gear 5 will be an unconventional transformation.
"There's this part about 'Liberation,' which is like breaking free from the laws and physics of the world. So our goal is to push the boundaries with innovative voice acting."
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a rubber body after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks, Luffy decided to become a pirate and set sail across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
