One Piece – Eiichiro Oda clarifies controversial doubt about Boa Hancock
Check it out:
Shortly after the Wano arc, the Seraphim were introduced in One Piece, robots created with the DNA of the Shichibukai and the Lunars. Each Seraphim has the power and appearance of a Shichibukai, but in the form of a child. Then a clone of Boa Hancock also appeared with the powers of the Mero Mero no Mi , the Devil Fruit capable of petrifying people attracted to the user.
Boa Hancock uses her power to turn anyone who feels a sensual attraction to her beauty into stone. The clone Seraphim, who has the appearance of a child, used the same power to petrify adult men. Because of this, some manga readers began to question whether this might be an inappropriate act.
However, Eiichiro Oda explained in the latest SBS that those who are petrified by little Seraphim Hancock feel attraction in the sense of finding a baby or child cute. That is, it is not a passionate attraction in the same sense as occurs with the adult Hancock.
"L: If someone is petrified by Loli Hancock's Mero Mero Mellow, will they be treated as a lolicon afterwards? They won't, right? Please tell me they won't!!!"
O: Her power lies in taking advantage of people who think "How cute," "Beautiful," and thus lower their emotional guard. We all look at babies and children and consider them cute, right? And that's enough to become petrified. Even if there is a true lolicon among the petrified, it's impossible to determine what kind of emotion led them to that state. Therefore, don't worry, your lolicon identity hasn't been revealed, now stay petrified!
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a rubber body after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks, he becomes a pirate and sets sail across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
