Although Oda had several demands, the executive said that he had two things that the creator wanted to highlight. Therefore, the first requirement was to maintain the original stories of the main characters.
“They are so important to who they are as people, what their dreams and motivations are, and how Luffy delves into that when he meets them and helps them rediscover those dreams.”
The second requirement would be to maintain the unique abilities of each member of the Straw Hat gang.
“Specific Devil Fruit powers and other skill sets were all carefully crafted by Oda and a lot of imagination was put into what different people can do and what the rules are for it.”
Anyway, the main cast of the series includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu Arata as Zoro, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji and Emily Rudd as Nami. The series premieres on August 31st on Netflix.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical fruit Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). He was inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red, to become a pirate and sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece , and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
