One Piece anime is preparing a remastered version of the Fish-Man Island Saga with the same director as Gear 5. The hiatus in adapting the Egghead Island Toei Animation the opportunity to revisit this iconic saga, which will be reduced from 58 to 21 episodes, now with improved animation and a remastered soundtrack.
The story reintroduces the Straw Hat crew after two years apart, as they head for the New World. Along the way, they must pass through Fish-Man Island, located thousands of meters below sea level, where they will face new challenges.

However, during a One Piece hosted by Toei in France, Twitter fan Moumai shared information about the remake. He reported that the session was attended by directors Tatsuya Nagamine and Kenji Yokoyama . Nagamine, known for directing episode 1071, where Luffy revealed Gear 5 , commented on his dedication to the first episodes of the new version of the saga.
In Nagamine's words:
I spend every night in After Effects, adding details and precise elements. I think, 'Why am I doing this?' but I want it to be perfect! I worked until 6 a.m. before my flight to France, still tweaking small details.
