Currently, spoilers for Elbaf in One Piece are heating up. After all, the Holy Knights have dominated the saga . These warriors arrived in the land of giants with a cruel goal: to subjugate Elbaf and force its inhabitants to follow the orders of the World Government in future wars. However, as expected, the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies did not stand idly by.
Holy Knights: Powerful Monsters in Elbaf
We already knew that the Holy Knights were incredibly strong. Author Eiichiro Oda made this clear by introducing characters like Shamrock Figarland and Gunko . Shamrock, for example, was portrayed as someone on par with Loki , one of Elbaf's most powerful characters. Furthermore, Shamrock believed that Gunko could easily defeat Loki, even without restraints.
Eventually, we saw other Holy Knights emerge, such as Saint Sommers and Saint Killingham . Both were portrayed as superior fighters to Marine Vice Admirals. However, the Holy Knights' greatest distinguishing feature is, undeniably, their immortality. In other words, to date, there is no known method to definitively defeat them, and not even Luffy has been able to defeat them.
Gaban takes down Saint Sommers in a surprising blow
However, in the spoilers for Chapter 1148 , we saw a stunning turn of events. Surprisingly, Gaban charged across the battlefield with incredible speed, covering miles in the blink of an eye. Then, he coated his axes with powerful Supreme King Haki and cut off Sommers' arm.
However, the biggest shock came when we realized that Sommers' arm wasn't regenerating. Soon after, Gaban delivered a devastating cut to the Holy Knight's chest, knocking him out completely without a scratch.
Therefore, it's clear that not all Holy Knights are on par with the Yonko. Shamrock and Gunko, for example, possess strength equivalent to these sea emperors, as does Garling, who also serves the Holy Knights. However, even the "weakest" members of the order, like Sommers, are comparable to the Yonko's top commanders, and their immortality gives them a unique advantage.
