One Piece – Luffy Gear 5 defeated Kaido just because he was weakened

Shortly after awakening Gear 5, Luffy finally defeated Kaido Wano saga , marking one of the most iconic moments in One Piece . However, was this victory truly a triumph for the Straw Hat or simply luck that the enemy was weakened?

Many fans argue that Luffy's victory was more a matter of exhausting his enemy than a clear indication of his superiority. Therefore, let's explore what the outcome of the fight would have been if Kaido hadn't been so worn down.

One of the main points to consider is the series of battles Kaido faced before his final confrontation with Luffy. Eventually, Kaido had to face the Red Scabbards , Eustass Kid , Killer , Trafalgar Law , Roronoa Zoro , and Yamato . Although Kaido withstood the attacks, the damage accumulated, causing wear and tear and exhaustion. However, Luffy was the only one capable of inflicting serious and lasting damage on the Beast Pirates' captain.

Straw Hat Luffy also sustained damage in the fight, but Kaido's wounds were more severe since he fought constantly. Even so, the accumulated damage didn't stop Kaido from fighting at full strength. He confronted Luffy's Bajrang directly and nearly incinerated it in the collision of their attacks. However, it's hard to believe that fatigue didn't affect the outcome as well.

Luffy undoubtedly reached a superior level with his advanced Conqueror's Haki and Gear 5, but the help from his allies played an advantage for him. Kaido's fighting experience and Haki are far superior to Luffy's, so if he hadn't been so tired, the outcome of the battle could have been different.

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber Fruit). Inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red-Haired, Luffy decided to become a pirate and sail the seas to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates.
