In an interview with GamesRadar+ , Taz Skylar says there's no CGI in Sanji's scenes, as he performed all the stunts himself alongside his stunt double. He also states that he already had an athletic background, but no martial arts experience. Therefore, to learn to fight like Sanji, the actor trained for several hours a day.
"I was already training with a friend of mine here who has a black belt in taekwondo. And then when I arrived in South Africa, we started with about two hours of training a day. It was clear that it wasn't going to be enough, because I really had no martial arts training."
Soon after realizing he needed to increase his training hours, the actor enlisted the help of his personal trainer in London. He requested this extra help because there weren't enough trainers to train him five hours a day.
“So I brought my personal trainer from London, who stayed with me for about four months in South Africa in a separate Airbnb. And he would just continue the work, then the stunt trainers, including my stunt double, would train for as many hours as they were available and could dedicate to me, and then Donnie, my other trainer, would continue training me literally until the place closed, and it was like that day in and day out.”
Synopsis:
