The official Twitter account responsible for the One Piece anime revealed a new trailer for it that highlights Luffy's Gear 5

As seen in the trailer, the transformation should take place in episode number “1017” of the anime, which arrives on August 6th in Japan.
Synopsis
The story revolves around Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gained a body made of rubber after eating the magical fruit Gomu Gomu no Mi (the Rubber Fruit). He was inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate Shanks the Red, to become a pirate and sail on a journey across the sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the Pirate King.
Since the Straw Hat gang entered the Wano country, Luffy declared war against the infamous Kaido, starting a fight that has been ongoing for over a year. However, the preview for episode 1069 of One Piece shows that the fight between the two is already close to its end. The video features scenes of the two characters frantically exchanging blows with their transformations. While Luffy fires off several attacks with Gear 4, Kaido fights back with his dragon and hybrid form.
Furthermore, after episode 1069, the anime will finally adapt the most anticipated moment of the fight, Luffy awakening Gear 5. If the anime does not go on hiatus or have a filler episode in the coming weeks, this moment should arrive in episode 1071.
