One Punch Man promises to surprise fans in the anime with the arrival of an unexpected character: Overgrown Rover . Although at first glance he seems like just another dangerous monster, Rover stands out for something unusual—he transforms into a loyal and, surprisingly, cute mascot.
An enemy that became a partner mascot

First, Rover appears in chapter 90 of the manga , when Garou tries to rescue Tareo from the Monster Association's base. However, the mission is interrupted by the arrival of the enormous monster-dog, which quickly demonstrates its power with a destructive beam. Although Garou tries to fight it, Rover easily defeats it, being classified as a dragon-level threat.
Later, it is Saitama who faces Rover—and defeats him effortlessly. Thus begins the character's transformation. Wounded and frightened, Rover recognizes Saitama's strength and begins to follow him faithfully, even after the fall of the Monster Association.
Rover earns his place among the heroes

Despite his monstrous past, Rover wins the hearts of the audience and, equally, the respect of the characters. Saitama adopts him as a pet dog, and he comes to live with the hero at the Association's headquarters. Furthermore, funny scenes show Rover interacting with Fubuki and the Blizzard group, even "joining" the team in exchange for prime meat.
Eventually, Rover shows his true loyalty by facing divine beasts in defense of his new companions. Therefore, what began as a threat becomes one of the most beloved mascots in One Punch Man.
Finally, the first season of the One Punch Man anime premiered in 2015, directed by Shingo Natsume Madhouse studio (Hunter x Hunter). Furthermore, the second season premiered in January 2019, containing 12 episodes.
