One Punch Man promises to surprise fans in season 3 of the anime with the arrival of an unexpected character: Overgown Rover . Although at first glance it seems just another dangerous monster, Rover stands out for something unusual - he turns into a loyal and surprisingly cute mascot.
An enemy who became a partner mascot
First, Rover appears in chapter 90 of the manga , when Garou tries to rescue the monster's association base. However, the mission is interrupted by the arrival of the huge monstros, which quickly shows its power with a destructive radius. Although Garou tries to face him, Rover defeats him easily, being classified as a dragon level threat.
Subsequently, it is Saitama who faces Rover - and wins it effortlessly. Thus, the transformation of the character begins. Wounded and scared, Rover recognizes Saitama's strength and follows him faithfully even after the monster's association falls.
Rover conquers his place among heroes
Despite his monstrous past, Rover conquers the heart of the audience and, equally, the respect of the characters. Saitama adopts him as a pet dog, and he starts living with the hero at the association's headquarters. In addition, funny scenes show Rover interacting with Fubuki and the Blizzard group, even “entering” the team in exchange for noble meat.
Eventually, Rover shows his true loyalty by facing divine beasts in defense of his new companions. Therefore, what started as a threat becomes one of One Punch Man's most beloved mascots.
Finally, the first season of the anime One Punch Man is tight in 2015 directed by Shingo Natsume for the studio Madhouse (Hunter x Hunter). In addition, season two premiered in January 2019, containing 12 episodes.
