Recognizing the potential of the work, Shueisha recruited the talented Yusuke Murata to transform ONE's basic style into a visual spectacle.
Although the manga has achieved impressive levels of artistic quality, the narrative has faced criticism over time. Now, a new controversy has taken over the community: the most recent chapter revealed that the story has returned to Chapter 240 , and all chapters released since October 2023 have been discarded as part of the main plot. The reason? The manga will be redrawn again.

Hello everyone, I'm Yusuke Murata. One of the great benefits of One Punch Man is the ability to make corrections later. When we work with print publications, tight deadlines force me to pull all-nighters to deliver the material. Often, when I see the result in the magazine, I think, 'This could have been better here,' or 'I should have adjusted that.' This feeling of regret is constant and ends up being part of the job.
One-Punch Man is one of my top priorities during its serialization. Even after submitting the scripts, I continue to revise and adjust them to minimize my own regrets. I know that one day my skills will decline and my work may no longer be considered sufficient, but until that happens, I try to do my best.
I would like to extend my immense gratitude to ONE-sensei , who always provides me with valuable insights through the story and characters, and I would also like to express my gratitude to the readers for their patience and understanding.
Murata 's commitment to perfection in his art, even if it means drastic changes to the plot. Despite the controversy, fans are showing support, understanding that this effort aims to deliver an even more refined work.
Therefore, this is not the first time that Murata has discarded the work and started again exactly from chapter 240. In March 2024, the author had already announced that he would correct chapters 240 to 247.
