Square Enix revealed a new trailer for Tokyo RPG Factory's ONINAKI (Japanese title: Oni no Naku Kuni, or "country where the ogre cries") during its E3 press conference on Monday. The video reveals the game's August 22 release date in North America, Europe, and Japan on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam .
The game's protagonist, Kagachi, moves between the Living World and the realm of the dead known as the Afterlife to rescue lost souls. If they are not rescued, these souls will become monsters. In battle, Kagachi can manifest the unique powers of the souls he rescues in battle.
Tokyo RPG Factory previously developed the games I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphere.
