Orbital Era - New anime by Katsuhiro Otomo gets teaser

We've finally revealed the new anime from Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo. Titled Orbital Era, the new anime will explore elements of space fantasy.

Orbital Era was revealed at the Anime Expo 2019 , which takes place in Los Angeles, the story takes place in the near future in a space colony that is under construction.

The story focuses on the relationships of a group of space station crew members. The protagonist is an American boy who wears a helmet bearing the abbreviation for the Soviet Union.

Despite being set in space, Otomo explains that the project will not be science fiction, but based on scientific facts and exploring a more fantasy-oriented path.
