JBC announced the publication of manga in Portuguese during the profile's live stream last Wednesday (26).
Buddha was originally published between 1972 and 1983, and is one of Tezuka's last works. The manga shows how the author thought about the story of Buddha, leading to it winning the Eisner Awards in 2004 and 2005.
Tezuka is remembered as the "Father of modern manga" because he was responsible for popularizing the genre.
In total there will be eight volumes; price and release date have not yet been announced.
