Oshi no Ko manga has gained significant traction in the otaku world, especially due to its shocking debut ending. The plot continues to surprise audiences with constant plot twists, especially in chapter 161 of the manga.

At the beginning of the chapter of Oshi no Ko 161, Aqua comes face to face with Hikaru Kamiki, the story's main villain and responsible for the death of Ai, Aqua and Ruby's mother. Hikaru believes that eliminating those who can surpass Ai Hoshino would give the idol even more relevance, and he used his charisma to manipulate people to fulfill his dark desires. Now, he sees Ruby as a threat to Ai's memory and decides she must die.
Knowing this, Aqua, who is extremely protective of her sister, decides to take drastic measures to stop Hikaru. In a tense moment, Aqua pulls out a knife and, instead of attacking the villain, turns it on herself, in the stomach. Her intention? To protect Ruby and at the same time prevent the media from tarnishing her sister's image if he were to become a murderer. Aqua then reveals her plan:
I'll kill you, but I won't let the media report Ruby as the sister of a murderer. There's only one way to do it: Hikaru Kamiki, accused of committing a crime in his biopic, got into a fight with the screenwriter, and after a struggle, they both fell off a cliff to their deaths.
Unfortunately, anime fans will have to wait a while to see what happens in Oshi no Ko 161. With the second arc coming to an end, Doga Kobo will need time to adapt the events of the 161 manga. While a third season hasn't been confirmed yet, the series' success suggests a renewal may be on the way.
