Check it out:
“There was a case where a cast member was attacked by a fan who saw a photo of the first news release of a film. When this happened, the person seemed very harsh, but after we became friends, they confessed that they were very emotionally hurt. When I discovered this, I realized that talents hide their true colors because of their work and their fans who support them. With the spread of the internet, we live in a society where fans' voices are heard directly. I want people to know how young talents are being hurt, exploited and suffering. I think this work also questions how people should deal with and treat these talents. I think it's fair to say that when I wrote about reality, it naturally became darker.”
So it's clear that Akasaka did thorough research into the dark side of the idol world to develop the idea for his manga. Those interested can follow the full interview at this link .
