Oshi no Ko: New trailer and release date for the live-action film

The Oshi no Ko is also betting big on live-action! The production's official website announced a new trailer with a release date.

The live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko will have its world premiere on Prime Video on November 28, 2024, with a series consisting of eight episodes. The feature film will be released in Japanese cinemas on December 20, 2024. However, there is still no information about the international release of the film.

The series will be directed by Hana Matsumoto and Smith , who will also direct the film. The script is in the hands of Ayako Kitagawa , while the soundtrack will be handled by the group Fox Capture Plan .

Oshi no Ko live-action synopsis

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old “Idol” named Ai Hoshino . But one fine day Hoshino appears at her office, however, saying that she is pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. But Idol doesn't want to have an abortion, she wants to have both children. Then Gorou promises her a safe birth. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his untimely death, or so he thought.

The manga Oshi no Ko by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters organized into fourteen tankōbon volumes until April 2024. Finally in Brazil, the manga was licensed for release in Brazil by Panini Mangas.
