Yurie Igoma , the Japanese voice actress for Ruby Hoshino , shared several interesting facts in a recent interview with Anime Trending about her role in Oshi no Ko . She also revealed that she has some similarities with Ruby, precisely because the character is an aspiring idol.

In her interview, Yurie Igoma reveals that she was already a fan of Oshi no Ko before working on the anime because she already followed the manga. Therefore, when she learned she would be playing Ruby, the voice actress says she was very excited for her role. Furthermore, Igoma compares herself to the character herself, saying she got the job on the anime just a few months after becoming a voice actress.
"This was my first time auditioning for an anime, so it was where I got my first solid understanding of how auditions work. As for Ruby-chan, I'm also a fan of female idols. And the first audition was literally months after I started working as a voice actor... It was only a few months after I signed with my agency.
Since Ruby aims to become a new idol and I'm a new voice actress, my feelings overlap with hers regarding "I'll do my best from here on!" So I really wanted to play the role of Ruby-chan no matter what!
Synopsis:
The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino shows up at his office, claiming she's pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. The idol doesn't want to abort; she wants both children. So Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's arms, Gorou discovers he's been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.
Thus , Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
