Yurie Igoma , the Japanese voice actress for Ruby Hoshino , commented on several interesting facts in a recent interview with the website Anime Trending about her role in Oshi no Ko . She also reveals that she has some similarities with Ruby, precisely because the character is an aspiring idol beginner.

In her interview, Yurie Igoma reveals that she was already a fan of Oshi no Ko before working on the anime because she already followed the manga. So when she found out she was going to play Ruby, the voice actress says she was very excited for her role. Furthermore, Igoma compares herself with the character herself, saying that she took this job in the anime just a few months after becoming a voice actress.
“This was the first time I auditioned for an anime, so it was where I got my first solid sense of how auditions went. As for Ruby-chan, I'm also a fan of female idols. And the first audition was literally months after I started working as a voice actor… It was only a few months after I signed with my agency.
Since Ruby plans to become a new idol and I'm a new voice actor, my feelings overlap with hers regarding “I'll do my best from here! ”. So I really wanted to play the role of Ruby-chan no matter what!”
Synopsis:
The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old “Idol” named Ai Hoshino . But one fine day Hoshino appears at her office, however, saying that she is pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. But Idol doesn't want to have an abortion, she wants to have both children. Then Gorou promises her a safe birth. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's lap, Gorou discovers that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , the newborn son of Ai! Therefore , Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
