For newcomers unfamiliar with the genre, 'Isekai' is a type of light novel, manga, and anime where someone is transported to a different world and has to fend for themselves there, like a fantasy universe or a parallel dimension. However, the controversial statement triggered a real war in the comments section of the post, with some agreeing and others disagreeing on the topic. Critics argued that it's time for a change, that the market is saturated with all kinds of 'Isekai'. But there were those who defended the genre tooth and nail to this day, saying that the quality of an anime cannot be judged solely by its genre.
