This Friday (05), Kadokawa revealed a new one for the Overlord Sei Ōkoku-hen (Overlord – The Movie: Sacred Kingdom Arc), the new cinematic project of the Overlord anime.
The film will be released later this year.

Kadokawa confirmed that Naoyuki Itou is returning to direct the film at Madhouse . Distribution of the film will be handled by Kadokawa Animation . Returning cast members include Satoshi Hino as Ains, Yumi Hara as Albedo, and Masayuki Katou as Demiurge.
The film project was first announced during a live special in 2021.
Synopsis
The story follows a video game player named Momonga, who finds himself trapped in the MMORPG "Yggdrasil" after it goes offline. Within the game, Momonga assumes the form of his avatar, but the powerful overlord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick embarks on an epic adventure in a virtual world filled with dangers and fantastical beings.
The first season of the anime Overlord, with 13 episodes, premiered in Japan in July 2015.
