's new project Patlabor EZY received important updates this Friday. The official website released the full trailer and main visual for "File 2," the second compilation film in the series, bringing together episodes 4 through 6 of the anime. It premieres in Japanese theaters on August 14th.

The plot of Patlabor EZY takes place in the 2030s, in a Japan marked by a shortage of workers and the advancement of automation with artificial intelligence. The traditional piloted Labors now share space with autonomous robots, while the SV2 division continues to combat crimes involving machines.
The anime uses a modernized version of the classic AV-98 Ingram, called the AV-98Plus Ingram. The model features mechanical improvements, new software, and even an augmented reality display for the pilots. The project is directed by Yutaka Izubuchi at JCStaff.

Furthermore, iconic names from the franchise are returning to the project. Kazunori Itō is writing the script, Kenji Kawai is composing the soundtrack, and Shigeru Chiba is reprising his role as Shigeo Shiba after almost 40 years. The anime will consist of eight episodes distributed across three films for Japanese theaters.
