Furthermore, the game introduces a new mechanic to the franchise: activities in school clubs . According to Yuta Sakai, players will be able to get involved in clubs such as music and soccer, which promises to add even more depth to the protagonist's daily life. However, the classic elements remain: part-time jobs, socialization, and the development of relationships are still an essential part of the journey.

Console quality and new characters

Although it's a free-to-play title with live service elements, the game received the same careful development as the traditional RPGs in the series. Jun Matsunaga emphasized that the narrative, mechanics, and visual style maintain the high standards of previous games.

Another highlight are the Phantom Idols , cognitive versions of the people the protagonist knows. Created by Merope , a mysterious figure from the Velvet Room, these "alternate selves" take the form of Phantom Thieves and assist in the battles of the Metaverse.
