The Pokémon Company , together with the famous company Adidas, entered into a partnership with the Japanese football team where Pikachu will be the new mascot for the 2014 World Cup (World Cup-2014) which will be hosted here in Brazil. The announcement took place during a special event by the Japan national team's sports equipment supplier.
The specific details of the partnership are still under wraps at this time. What we know is that the famous Pokémon Pikachu already appears on the Japanese national team's shirt, in addition to promoting and selling several products involving the Adidas and Pokémon brands, such as shirts, dolls and accessories.
The feat is already considered by many experts to be one of the best marketing moves in history involving the World Cup. One of the biggest events this year, is being held in Brazil from June 12th. Japan is opening Group C with Greece, Ivory Coast, and Colombia.
