PlayStation 5 online event gets date

THE Sonyofficially confirmed that it will hold the event to announce the new PlayStation 5. The confirmed date was for next Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Update: A new date has been set by Sony, moving to June 11th.

Jim Ryan , President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that the online event “ The Future of Gaming ” will begin at 5 pm in Brazil.

Finally, it was also published on the official blog:

We've already shared the technical specifications and shown the new DualSense wireless controller. But, a launch is nothing if it doesn't have games, right?

That's why I'm excited to share that you'll soon be able to discover the games that will be in your hands after the PlayStation 5 launches. The games that will accompany the PS5 represent the best in the sector, offered by innovative studios spread across the world. Studios big and small, the newest and the most established, all types of studios have worked hard to develop games that demonstrate the potential of the hardware.

This digital demonstration will last a little over an hour and, for the first time, we will be together virtually, sharing this energy. The impossibility of holding in-person events has presented us with an incredible opportunity to think differently and to bring you with us on this journey, in the hope that we will be closer than ever. This message is part of a series of updates about the PS5, but don't worry: after next week's demo, there's still plenty more for you.
