We recently heard the news that the PlayStation 4 would be backwards compatible with the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2, however, information on how this would work had not been given until then.
Today, December 4, 2015, Sony gave us the first information about backward compatibility, which begins tomorrow! (December 5, 2015). Physical PS2 games will not be accepted on the PS4. The games will be sold digitally through the PlayStation Store.

According to Sony, the listed productions were adapted in collaboration with the original developers. All games will feature trophy support, 1080p upscaling, SharePlay compatibility, Remote Play, streaming, manuals, and details displayed in the PS4 news feed.
