Publisher Akita Shoten announced on Monday (15) that the manga Plus-Sized Elf ( Elf-san wa Yaserarenai . ) is inspiring an anime adaptation that will premiere later this year.

The manga went on a six-month hiatus in May 2021 to change publishers to Akita Shoten, and then resumed in Dokodemo Young Champion in October 2021, ending shortly thereafter, with Akita Shoten publishing a new eighth volume in November 2021. Akita Shoten then began re-releasing the first seven volumes of the manga in June 2022.
Synopsis
Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to head home at the end of the day when he's assigned a rather strange patient. This adorable lady has green eyes, pointed ears, and grew up in the forest – everything about her screams "elf," except for one thing: her voluptuous figure. It turns out she's left her world behind, but she loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this lovely elf lose weight – and keep it off?
Finally, the publisher is also releasing new editions of the manga with new covers.
