The Pokémon Company revealed a new animated short film in celebration of Earth Day , which takes place on April 22, 2025. Titled Pokémon Ecology Diary (Provisional Title), the special will feature dear Pokémon such as Pikachu , Chimchar , Tepig and Eevee , in a story focused on environmental preservation.

The news was released through the official account account in Weibo. In the statement, the team comments:
“April 22, 2025 is Earth Day. While the Pokémon help us discover the beauty of the world, the coaches are also curious about the ecology of the Pokémon Universe? The Special Short Pokémon Ecology Diary will be released tomorrow at noon on the franchise's official channels.”
The debut is scheduled for 12h (Beijing time) , which corresponds to 1 am in Brasília time. However, the project's animation was the renowned Comix Wave Films , the same responsible for the works of Makoto Shinkai , such as Your Name and Suzume .
This new special follows the recent release of Dragonite and the Mail Carrier , aired in February during the Pokémon Day . However, don't stop there: fans can still wait for the 2nd season of Concierge for the second semester and Pokémon Horizons: The Search for Laqua Part 2 , which opens in the US on April 25.
