It has been revealed that Pokémon will be getting a live-action series on Netflix . According to Variety, the showrunner responsible for the series Lucifer is attached to the project.

Therefore, the project is based on the film Detective Pikachu , released in 2019. News will be revealed in the future.

Ultimately, Detective Pikachu grossed $433 million at the box office worldwide.
