The Pokémon TCG Pocket, a collectible card game for mobile devices, will receive one of the most anticipated features by players later this month: the trading system. This new mechanic will allow friends to trade cards with each other, following specific rules to maintain game balance.

How will the exchange system work?

The main requirement for trading cards in the Pokémon TCG Pocket will be in-game friendship. Players can only trade with each other if they have previously added each other to their friends list. Additionally, the cards must have the same rarity, preventing common items from being traded for more valuable versions.

Another important point is that trades will require the use of an in-game resource, possibly Poké Gold, the virtual currency used in various transactions within the platform. However, this decision seems to have been made to balance the game's economy and generate additional revenue for the developer.

Restrictions and allowed cards for trading in the Pokémon TCG Pocket

The feature will initially arrive with some limitations. The game will only allow trading of certain cards from the Genetic Domination and Mythic Island , but promises to add more sets in the future.

Thus, players will be able to trade cards with rarities ranging from 1 to 4 diamonds and 1 star , following the guidelines established by the developer. Lower rarity cards, such as those with two diamonds or a crown, will not be available for trade in this initial phase.

Community expansion and feedback

The Pokémon Company and DeNA, responsible for developing the game, have stated that the system may undergo adjustments based on community feedback. Player input will be essential for future updates, including the possible relaxation of trading rules.

Furthermore, a new booster pack is planned for this month, expanding the collection of cards available in the game. The expectation is that, with these new additions, Pokémon TCG Pocket will maintain high engagement and continue attracting fans of the famous collectible card game.
