The Pokémon Company has officially announced the opening of PokéPark KANTO, the franchise's first permanent outdoor theme park. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the park will occupy 26,000 square meters in Yomiuriland Park, located in the Tama Hills area of Tokyo.

In addition to bringing together more than 600 creatures from the franchise scattered between the forest and the city, the location promises unprecedented interactive experiences, with settings directly inspired by the games and anime. Ticket pre-sales are expected to begin in late 2025.

A complete journey between forest and city

PokéPark KANTO will be divided into two main areas. On one side will be the Pokémon Forest, with trails, tall grass, caves, and wild environments. The goal is to allow visitors to observe Pokémon behaving similarly to what is seen in the games. The park will feature battles, group interactions, and moments of rest amidst nature.

The other half of the park will be Sedge Town, an urban village where trainers can visit a Pokémon Center, a Poké Mart, a city-specific gym, and even watch a themed parade with the monsters. There will also be shops with official merchandise and spaces designed for interaction between fans.

PokéPark Kanto aims to be a new home for fans and Pokémon

According to The Pokémon Company, the concept for PokéPark KANTO was born from the desire to create an environment where people and Pokémon can "coexist." The aim is to expand visitors' imagination about how Pokémon live in their own habitats, reinforcing the sense of immersion with sensory and visual experiences.

Thus, the project goes beyond a simple tourist attraction: it aims to be a continuous space for interaction and discovery. The park not only celebrates the legacy of the franchise, but also offers fans an opportunity to experience the Pokémon world beyond the screen.

Although the exact opening date has not yet been announced, PokéPark KANTO is expected to open to the public in early 2026. However, advance ticket sales are scheduled to begin in late 2025, with more details to be announced on the Pokémon Company's official channels in the coming months.
