The official website for the anime “Pon no Michi” revealed a second promotional image this Friday (06), as well as a promotional video for the character Nashiko.

Synopsis

The anime is set in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, where high school student Nashiko Jippensha has been kicked out of her home. Without a place to play with her friends, she discovers that the mahjong parlor her father ran is empty. She repairs the mahjong parlor and transforms it into a place where she and her friends can have fun, cook, drink tea, and occasionally play mahjong.

The main cast of the anime includes:

  • Kaori Maeda as Nashiko Jippensha
  • Iori Saeki as Father Kawahigashi
  • Shion Wakayama as Izumi Tokutomi
  • Yui Kondou as Riche Hayashi

Tatsuma Minamikawa (Fire Force, Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry) is directing and writing the anime's scripts at OLM. Negi Haruba (original creator of The Quintessential Quintuplets) is sketching the original character designs, and Kenji Ōta is adapting the designs for animation.

Tsukasa Unohana, known for her work on “Anima Yell!”, began a manga adaptation of the anime on September 1st in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine.
