Fuji TV announced during the Noitamina Line Up 2014 that the second season of Psycho-Pass will arrive on Japanese screens in October this year. The film will premiere in July, also announced last year with the second season.
The first season is set in the near future, where it is possible to measure and quantify the state of a person's mind and personality instantly. This information is recorded and processed, and the term “Psycho-Pass” refers to a standard used to measure how an individual is doing, and can classify them as a criminal before they even commit any crime. The story revolves around “enforcement agent” Kougami Shinya, who is tasked with fighting crime in a world with this reality.
The original anime premiered late night on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block last year. Funimation streamed the 22-episode series that aired in 2012.
