Fuji TV announced during the Noitamina Line Up 2014 that the second season of Psycho-Pass will hit Japanese screens in October of this year. The film, also announced last year with the second season, will premiere in July.
The first season is set in a near future where it's possible to measure and quantify a person's mental state and personality instantly. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" refers to a standard used to measure an individual's state of mind, potentially classifying them as criminals before they even commit a crime. The story revolves around "enforcement agent" Kougami Shinya, who is tasked with fighting crime in a world with this reality.
The original anime premiered late night on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block last year. Funimation streamed the 22-episode series, which aired in 2012.
