The official website “Noitamina” announced this Friday that, in addition to the already confirmed second season of the Psycho-Pass , a film has also been greenlit. Production IG and President & CEO Mitsuhisa Ishikawa revealed at their panel at the Anime Expo event in July that the second season of the Psycho-Pass anime is on its way. He also hinted that an “important announcement” would be made at the screening event for all 22 episodes of the anime. We believe it was indeed a film.
The first season of the anime premiered in Japan last October. Funimation streamed the first season, thus airing it in Japan, and confirmed in March that it will release the season on Blu-ray and DVD.

The trailer features several quotes from the first season with the character Akane Tsunemori. The trailer ends with the announcement that the new TV series and film will be "completely new works".
