Synopsis:
The series' story revolves around a world where the principle of "all are innocent until proven guilty" doesn't apply. Judgments are made by a system that analyzes people's mental state and categorizes them as potential criminals or not, known as the "Sibyl." These individuals are also given a chance of "cure" (therapy), or mental recovery. If these individuals are classified as irredeemable, their sentence can be imprisonment or death, even if they haven't committed any crime. To aid their investigations, the police use a group of "special" prisoners, called Enforcers, to help them capture or kill these "no longer needed" individuals. To do so, they use a special weapon called Dominats, or "The Eyes of the Sibyl." Akane Tsunemori is a police officer who has just been transferred to this division, but she seems to disbelieve that irredeemable people exist.
Writer Makoto Fukami (Chotto Kawaii Iron Maiden, Osama-tachi no Viking) reported on his blog in July that he was writing the film's script with Gen Urobuchi. Fukami had collaborated with Urobuchi on the first season of Psycho-Pass, but Tow Ubukata will handle series composition for the second season.
Finally, FUNimation Entertainment licensed the film, as well as the first season.
