Ranma ½: ​​Remake of the anime produced by MAPPA studio gets a trailer

Fans of this beloved studio, we have a surprise for you! The remake of the anime Ranma ½, which we reported on in June, has had its first trailer released. The production is being handled by Studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan).

In addition to the trailer, the website also revealed the production team involved in the Ranma ½ remake, as well as the first promotional art for the anime.

Synopsis:

Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo from the Tendo Dojo are engaged by their parents' decision. But Ranma faces a unique problem… During his training in China, he fell into the cursed Jusenkyo springs, acquiring the peculiar characteristic of transforming into a girl when wet with cold water and back into a boy with hot water. Get ready for this action-packed romantic comedy full of mishaps, starring Ranma, Akane, and a vibrant cast of unique characters!

Ranma ½ was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from September 1987 to March 1996 and compiled into 38 volumes by Shogakukan. Studio Deen adapted the manga into two anime series: the first with 18 episodes and the second, Ranma ½ Nettōhen, with 143 episodes. Fuji Television aired both series between 1989 and 1992. In addition, they released 14 OVAs and three films. In 2011, Nippon Television broadcast a live-action special.
