Ranma ½ was published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from September 1987 to March 1996 and compiled into 38 volumes by Shogakukan. Studio Deen adapted the manga into two anime series: the first with 18 episodes and the second, Ranma ½ Nettōhen, with 143 episodes. Fuji Television aired both series between 1989 and 1992. They also released 14 OVAs and three films. In 2011, Nippon Television aired a live-action special.
