Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus got a new trailer this Sunday (18), however the official website revealed its release date. The series adapts the university arc “Ao Buta” (LN Vol 13) about Mei and Sakuta at university.
Therefore, the release of Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus takes place on July 5, 2025 with animation by the studio CloverWorks ( Yakusoku no Neverland ).
Synopsis Rascal Does Not Dream:
Adolescent Syndrome — A mysterious phenomenon that, according to some, arises from an unstable emotional state. During high school, Sakuta Azusagawa met several girls who experienced various manifestations of this syndrome. Now, he's in college. Alongside his girlfriend, Mai Sakurajima — a hugely popular actress nationwide — Sakuta is entering a university in Kanazawa Hakkei. It was there that he encountered something unexpected: a girl dressed as Mrs. Claus, in the middle of the off-season. "Hey... Can you see me?"
That phrase… he'd heard something like it before. The girl, who introduces herself as "Tōko Kirishima," claims to be distributing Adolescent Syndrome as if it were a gift. With premonitory dreams going viral on social media, a mysterious internet singer, poltergeists, and other unexplained events, a new wave of encounters with emotionally conflicted girls is about to begin.
Because adolescence… is not over yet.
Thus, the franchise is based on the light novels written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keiji Mizoguchi , published in Japan by Dengeki Bunko .
Finally, the series has already won over audiences with an anime adaptation in 2018 and three films released in 2019 and 2023.
