Magical Warriors of Rayearth: New anime announced after 30 years

Absolutely out of nowhere, we learned that, to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary, a new anime project for 'Magic Knight Rayearth' is in development.

In the publication we can read the following: This is a classic adventure story in an alternative world created by CLAMP. The manga was serialized in the shoujo magazine “Nakayoshi” (Kodansha) from 1993 to 1995 and adapted for TV from 1994 to 1995, achieving enormous success. The theme song “Yuzurenai Negai” by Naomi Tamura has sold more than a million copies. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the anime's broadcast on TV.

Synopsis:

The plot follows three elementary school Hikaru Shidou (Lucy), Umi Ryuuzaki (Marine) and Fuu Hououji However, in this new universe, they are given the mission to save the world that is on the brink of destruction. On their journey to restore peace and order amid chaos, young women face challenges that take them on a profound journey of self-knowledge, learning and maturity.

Therefore Magic Knight Rayearth is an enchanting manga created by the CLAMP group, originally published in Kodansha's weekly magazine Nakayoshi, between 1993 and 1996. The fascinating story also came to life in an anime version, produced by TMS Entertainment and broadcast between 1994 and 1995 In addition, three OVAs were released that explore parallel stories to the main plot. This classic won fans in both Brazil and Portugal, being known by the same name in both countries.
