Publisher Kodansha confirmed on its official website, via Weekly Shonen Magazine live-action film adaptation of the manga Real Account . According to the statement, the team responsible for canceling the film "due to various circumstances."
The production team announced the film in January 2018. The magazine's editors apologized for not giving any updates for a long time, especially to those who were eagerly awaiting the film's release.
Shizumu Watanabe , the manga writer, also made a post about the film's cancellation on his X account . In the post, he says that tomorrow (03/13/25) there will be a special announcement . Check out the translation of the author's official post:

About Real Account
Real Account is a manga written by Shizumu Watanabe and illustrated by Okusho . Kodansha launched the manga in Bessatsu Shonen in February 2014.
The following year, the manga moved to Weekly Shonen Magazine in January 2015, but returned to Bessatsu in June 2018. The story had its final chapter released in November 2019, totaling 24 volumes.
Real Account Synopsis
“Like many of his peers, Ataru Kashiwagi found himself addicted to the newest social networking service, Real Account.
But one day, Ataru and nearly 10,000 others are sucked into the Real Account Zone, where they become players in a series of deadly games. The basic rules of these games are simple: if you lose all your followers, you die in real life, and if you die, all your followers die with you.
As these depraved games decimate the players around him, Ataru must use his quick thinking and his knowledge of the Real Account to win each round and return to the real world.
