Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story Gets First Trailer

The anime Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story (Akazukin, Tabi no Tochū de Shitai to Deau) unveiled its first trailer, a new visual, and additional cast and staff, along with a January 2027 premiere date. The production adapts the novel by Aito Aoyagi and follows Little Red Riding Hood on a journey during which she becomes entangled in a series of mysteries.

Yume Miyamoto plays Red Riding Hood, while Akira Sekine voices Pinocchio. The new cast members include Takuya Satō as Jill, Atsushi Tamaru as Antonio, Motoko Kumai as Rodrigo, Kōtarō Nishiyama as Paulo, Sakiko Uran as Thumbelina, and Ryōko Shiraishi as the narrator.

Itsurō Kawasaki directs and writes the script at Benten Film. Manami Minakata and Yūko Yahiro handle the character designs, while Jun Ichikawa composes the music.
The anime premieres in January 2027 on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, and Yomiuri TV. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide, excluding Asia. The first screening takes place on October 9 at New York Comic Con.
