It was announced by the great Nintendo that the third generation of Pokémon, the Ruby and Sapphire , have been Rebooted.

The adventure set in the Hoenn region was released in 2003 and will now receive a fully updated version for the Nintendo 3DS handheld, titled Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire . The games will be released starting in November of this year.

The original was released for the Game Boy Advance . These were the first games in the third generation of Pokémon, better known as the Advance generation. They introduced 135 new Pokémon, bringing the total to 386. They weren't compatible with any of the previous games, but only included 201 obtainable Pokémon. This was understood when Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Pokémon Colosseum, and Pokémon XD were released, as these allowed all 386 obtainable Pokémon. As the first games of the Advance generation, they generated much speculation, and upon their release, they were the best-selling games in Japan in 2002.
