Capcom's official website announced a video announcing that the remastered version of Resident Evil 1 will be released for all platforms: PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. The announcement came from producers Tatsuya Kitabayashi and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, who confirmed that it will be released for all major consoles. These new versions are expected to arrive in 2015.
Hirabayashi said, "The goal with this remaster is to bring back the original [Resident Evil] experience in HD. The pacing and flow of the original game are an inherent part of its spooky atmosphere, so we made the decision not to interrupt it at this time."
The Resident Evil survival horror game debuted in 1996 on the Playstation. A remake then appeared on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002.
The most recent installment in the franchise, Resident Evil 6, was released in 2012 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Watch:
