Re:Zero surpasses Mushoku Tensei as the highest rated isekai

The long-awaited third season of Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World arrived with everything, conquering the top among isekai anime and beating Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation .

Even though the season has just begun, Re:Zero has received significant praise, surpassing the second half of Mushoku Tensei on MyAnimeList. With an impressive 8.96 , Re:Zero takes the lead among anime in this genre.

Mushoku Tensei, which has always been a favorite, now ranks second with a score of 8.65. The first part of the series' second season follows closely behind with a score of 8.45. This unexpected clash between the isekai giants is capturing fans' attention and generating much debate on social media, particularly Twitter.

The premiere episode of the new season of Re:ZERO, released on October 4, 2024, was 90 minutes long, the same as the one shown at Anime Expo 2024. This third season will be divided into two parts, each with eight episodes. The first part adapts the "Shugeki-hen" (Attack Arc), while the second part, scheduled for February 5, 2025, will feature the "Hangeki-hen" (Counterattack Arc).

Even with the intense competition, both Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei remain isekai mainstays.
