Developed by Blast Edge Games and published by Akatsuki Games in partnership with Aniplex, the title blends engaging narrative with exploration elements, battles and a detailed retro aesthetic, all in a cozy and mysterious atmosphere.
Hyke's Journey: A Witch in Search of the Past
In HYKE: Northern Light(s), we follow Hyke, a young witch who travels through a world ravaged by an ancient war between humans and witches. Following in the footsteps of her mother, who is considered responsible for the destruction, Hyke sets out on a solitary journey to the so-called "Forbidden Areas," dangerous places filled with forgotten magic.
In addition to the protagonist, other notable characters enter the scene, each with unique abilities and stories of their own. Travel companions can be swapped throughout the exploration, allowing for different strategies during combat.
An RPG that combines magic, camping and friendship
The game's premise goes beyond combat and exploration. The camping system allows players to set up their own resting space, prepare meals that offer temporary perks, organize their equipment, and enjoy relaxing soundtracks. This balance between action and contemplation transforms the pace of the adventure, making every break meaningful.
Each character brings a distinct playstyle, expanding tactical possibilities in each stage. The freedom to switch between them throughout the campaign encourages experimentation and creative use of magical abilities.
Detailed pixel art and immersive environment
With art direction by Setamo and Shiros, HYKE: Northern Light(s) features vibrant, nuanced pixel art. Natural landscapes, ancient ruins, and magical zones come to life with expressive colors and fluid animations, creating a world that invites exploration.
The soundtrack and sound effects contribute to the immersion, highlighting both intense combat moments and more serene intervals around the campfire.

The launch is scheduled for September 18th at 9:00 PM Brasília time. The game will cost 2,800 yen (Japanese price) and will support multiple languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Turkish, and Dutch.
