Currently, many anime are getting live-action adaptations, so the Japanese have speculated that Demon Slayer will also get a movie or series soon. However, they questioned whether Koyoharu Gotouge, the manga's author, would be involved in this adaptation.

A Japanese critic commented that anime film adaptations, such as The First Slam Dunk and Detective Conan , were box office successes because of the involvement of the original authors in the project. Therefore, it would be possible to achieve good results with live-action adaptations by following the same process. For example, Eiichiro Oda is the executive producer of the Netflix live-action One Piece , and its first trailer has already made a good impression on the public.
However, many productions ignore the original actor's involvement in the project, as happened in the case of the live-action film Orange . Ichigo Takano , the author of Orange, did not reach an agreement with the film's producers, so she asked fans not to associate the live-action film with her manga.
There are many companies interested in adapting Demon Slayer, but Koyoharu Gotouge might not get involved with the project because she doesn't make public appearances and seems to have retired since the end of her manga. Therefore, the author's involvement would be a fundamental piece in trying to create a faithful adaptation.
Synopsis:
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro needs to go to the blacksmith village to forge a new sword, since his old weapon was damaged. However, on the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain of the story, with the mission of killing the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the demon slayers will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the Upper Moon demons again to stop them.
Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a successful phenomenon with the movie. The second season premiered on December 5 , 2021 in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll after the release of the movie To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
