Genshin Impact's next special broadcast is scheduled for June 6th. The livestream is expected to showcase details about version 5.7, including new playable characters and the arrival of a new game mode. While HoYoverse hasn't officially confirmed the date yet, the schedule follows the pattern adopted for the Chinese RPG's latest updates.

Skirk and Dahlia are sure bets among the new characters

The official release of concept art for Skirk and Dahlia indicates that both characters will make their debut in Update 5.7. Skirk, a Cryo sword user, is known for her connection to Tartaglia. Dahlia, a four-star Hydro character, is expected to be featured in promotional banners.

Rumors still point to Emilie, Mavuika, and Shenhe as the highlights of the new phase. The first two are said to be new characters, while Shenhe is expected to return in a banner rerun.

Among the main expected features is a new game mode focused on the endgame, that is, the final content of the game. Unconfirmed information from official sources suggests that the new mode will offer more complex challenges and exclusive rewards, aiming to cater to the more experienced community. The introduction of this content may be a response to the recurring criticism about the lack of permanent challenges after the maximum level of progression.

Events and rewards should also be part of the new version

As with previous updates, version 5.7 should include temporary events with exclusive missions, minigames, and rewards in Protogems, ascension items, and Mora.

The expectation is that these events will also serve to introduce the new characters to the public, reinforcing the narrative and setting of the update.
